The war was raging over Trent on 13th May 1944.

While walking alone towards Trent, she meets a woman who was desperate due to the death of her family members. Chiara that suffering hers and feels the urge to share the sufferings of her fellow citizens.

While she was still young, an ever increasing group of people gather around her having decided to put into practise the words of the Gospel, which alone were capable to unite
all of earth’s people.

This gave rise to the Focolare Movement, which today is spread all over the world. Men, women, teenagers, families, children, teachers, politicians, managers, workers, cultured people, religious mean and women, artists… a people united by mutual love that gives a glimpse of how humanity would be if it were one big family.
